Kristy Thackeray (she/her)
Therapist, MSW BSW RSW
I live in Chestermere, Alberta with my husband, Wade, our twin Daughters Shaylynn and Mckayla and our Boston Terrier, Nala. I am a published author, sharing my story as a heart transplant recipient. When I’m not at work, I cherish family time, indulge in TV and books, and savor mindful moments with morning coffee. In summer, you'll catch me paddle boarding on Chestermere Lake or fishing in Crawling Valley.
Described as kind and respectful, my core values revolve around connection, inclusion, and empathy. I believe therapy should feel like your favorite article of clothing, the one that fits just right, and you buy it in multiple colors! I am proud to foster a safe space for clients to explore their brave and vulnerable selves without fear of judgment.

My “Go-To” Therapy Models
Since I was 16, I knew I wanted to be a counsellor and walk alongside people on their healing journey. I completed my Bachelor of Social Work online with the University of Victoria, BC and graduated in 2015. I pursued further education obtaining my Master of Social Work with a Clinical Specialization at the University of Calgary in 2019. My social work experience has included working in not-for-profit agency providing affordable housing for low income seniors. My passion led me to working in long-term care with complex mental health and dementia. For the last few years, I provided mental health counselling to a clinic in Calgary for individuals who experienced a spinal cord injury or have been diagnosed with a chronic illness.
I am always pursuing new learning opportunities to help develop my knowledge and to better support the people who come to see me. If I am not a good fit for you, that is okay, we will work together to connect you with someone who is a better fit.
